DC#196 all dolled up

Gisteren (2december) heb ik een zentangle try out gegeven in een wijkproject! Een hele ervaring. We startten met 2 dames, die vol enthausiasme beginnen. In de aangrenzende ruimte is een groepje dames net klaar met de yoga en in het naar buiten lopen, kijken een paar dames geinteresseerd naar de prille tekeningen. Op uitnodiging nemen ze aarzelend plaats, en raken al gauw enthausiast. En  na afloop toen iedereen zijn tile afhad, hebben we gezellig met zijn allen genoten van een heerlijke kop zelfgemaakte groente soep.

Het mooiste resultaat wat ik bereikt heb is dat iedereen blij en vol trots naar huis ging met een Zentangle die ze zelf gemaakt hebben, vooral omdat ze vooraf ervan overtuigd waren dat zij dit niet konden. Maar One stroke at the time anything is possible! Getuige de foto's die ik gemaakt heb van werk!

Yesterday I did a zentangle try out in a community project from a little town not far from my home. It was a tryout so we didn't know how many people would show up. We started with 2 enthusiastic ladies. One of them had a stroke some years ago, and she was very open minded to learn something new, although she thought she couldn't do it. Making the z-string was a real challenge for her because since the stroke she couldn't read or write anymore. So she needed some one on one instructions. But she did it and she had a lot of fun making her tile and was so proud, that was the best compliment I could get.  In the room next to our room there was a group of women who just finished their yoga session, and on the way out some of them looked interrested in the drawings of the 2 ladies. I invited them to take a seat and join, even if it would be for just 15 minutes, and so they did? They all loved it and they stayed until the tile was done. Awesome to see what zentangle can do! Look at the tiles what they did, I am so proud of what they made!

Bij thuiskomst zat ik vol energie, en heb vervolgens de diva challenge van deze week nog gemaakt! Het thema voor deze week is pop. Na wat denkwerk besloot ik om het eenvoudige lappenpopje van suske en wiske te nemen, en haar jurkje te versieren met tangle patroontjes! Omdat ze in de strip een rood jurkje aanheeft, heb ik met zwart en rode micron gewerkt. Het is een heel vrolijke en gelukkige tile geworden, die perfect mijn gevoel van de dag weergeeft!

After I came home I was full of energy and started with the diva challenge! This weeks theme was a doll. Funny, I was thinking what to do and I came up with a moppet called 'Schanulleke' from a famous Belgian comic called 'Suske en Wiske'. It is an easy to draw doll and because her dress in real is red, I did the tangle patterns with black and red. It became a very happy and joyfull tile, spreading the mood I had after a great morning!
