Spelen met het nieuwe patroontje Rixties. Een patroontje met heel veel mogelijkheden. Ik heb al een tijdje met Rixties wat gespeeld op losliggende papiertjes, maar nog nooit in een ZIA, Tile of Zendala, dus ik was blij met de uitdaging deze week. Ik wist al direct dat ik dit patroon wilde gaan maken op een Zendala. In mijn strathmore tekenblokje met grijs papier, heb ik een cirkel getekend, en ben begonnen met Rixties in de vorm van een cirkel (lijkt op een zaagblad :) ). Vervolgens ben ik Rixties in allerlei variaties gaan toevoegen, waarbij ik die met de blaadjes erg mooi vind, goed te gebruiken in tuintafelreeltjes.
Playing with Rixties is my title for this zendala. It is a pattern with lots of possibilities. I have been playing around with Rixties for some time but never used it in a piece of Art. So I was really glad Laura made this challenge. Right away I knew I wanted to do it as a Zendala. So I took my Strathmore Grey toned sketch block, draw a circle and started with rixties in a circle. After that I did some variations and a little change of the scape of rixties, wich becomes a Rixties leaf, I love that one, easy to use in tangled garden pieces.

Vandaag stuitte ik op deze nieuwe europese challenge. De challenge heet Muster Mixer, hetgeen betekend Patroon-mixer. De bedoeling is dat je 2 patroontjes mix met elkaar. Op de site wordt dit goed uitgelegd aan de hand van voorbeelden. En de 1e challenge bestaat uit de patronen Mooka en Rixty die je met elkaar mag gaan mixen. Een leuke challenge, die niet eenvoudig is, maar je wel creatief aan het werk zet. Ik heb besloten om deze in mijn CZT-journal te maken. En heb 2 tiles overgetrokken in mijn journal, en in de 1e tile heb ik Mooka getekend, waarbij de uiteinden overgaan in Rixty. Bovendien heb ik de verschillende mooia's met elkaar verbonden via de rixty topjes. De ontstane vlakjes heb ik opgevuld met wat gestreepte patroontjes en Tipple, een aura toegevoegd en TaDa... klaar. Bij de 2e tile heb ik rixty een beetje omgevormd tot blaadjes in plaats van driehoekjes, en wat losse rixty stengeltjes toegevoegd. Niet helemaal geworden zoals ik in gedachten had, maar het is wat het is, en de totale blz. is toch een mooi geheel geworden.
Today I found a brand new Zentangle Challenge. It is an european challenge, and it is called Muster Mixer. It is German, and it means Pattern Mixer. The challenge is to mix two patterns together into a new one. On the site the rules are explained very well. It is a funny challenge, not easy, but your creative brain has to work hard to find some nice solutions. I made the challenge in my CZT-journal book. I traced 2 tiles on one page, and did in the first tile a Mooka with Rixty endings. And I connected the Mookas through the Rixty endings. The little spaces I filled with Tipple and striped patterns. In the second tile I did a large Mooka, and transformed the Rixty on the Mooka stems into leaves. It became not exactly how I wanted it, so I made some Rixty pieces between the spaces. I like my page and want to show it to you.
