Blind string Diva Challenge 116

Met de string / With string

Net zoals een aantal maanden geleden (Diva Challenge 84), wederom een challenge met een blind getekende string. Dit is erg leuk om te doen, omdat je wat minder controle (voor zover als dat mogelijk is) hebt over het resultaat van de string.
In augustus 2012 was ik nog maar pas begonnen met het maken van de challenges, en had ik wat meer moeite om de string te tekenen die naar mijn idee goed was, en moest ik erg mijn best doen om de juiste tangle patroontjes te zoeken en daarna ook nog te maken. Deze keer heb ik direct mijn eerst getekende string genomen, ook al vond ik hem wat ieletjes. In het grootste ovaal ben ik begonnen met langs de rand een soort golvend lint te tekenen. En door lijntjes door te trekken zijn de volgende tangle patroontjes vanzelf ontstaan, en is mijn tile als het ware gegroeid tot wat het is geworden.

Het resultaat / Result

Just like a couple of months ago (Diva Challeng 84), this weeks challenge had to be done on a blind string. This is very funny to do, because the less of control about the strings result. With #84 I had some trouble by drawing the string, and did several ones before I started to tangle. And after that I had to search for some tangle patterns to do on my string. This time I started to tangle right away at my first blind string, although I thought it was a little small. I started with the biggest oval to draw a weavy ribbon at the border of the oval, and by enlarge the lines throug the oval and outside the oval the other tangle patterns where born. So my tile grew while tangling to what it is....and  I am satisfied with the end result, and show it to the world....

Vlinders zendala 38

Bij het bekijken van de inzendingen van de zendala's #38, kwam ik terecht bij Ronnie. Zij had haar zendala prachtig ingekleurd, en werkelijk alle ruimtes hoe klein ook, gevuld met kleur of tangles. Al kijkend naar haar werk kreeg ik de ingeving om vlinders te verwerken in het ontwerp. Het idee liet me maar niet los, dus heb ik nog een zendala gemaakt met vlinders in de rand.

Looking at all those beautiful zendalas of the dare #38, I was attracted to the zendala of Ronnie. She had colored it so great, and really used all the spaces even the very little ones. Great. Looking at her zendala I thougth how wonderful it would be if the outside circles would converted to butterflies. I couldn't get rid of this thought so I decided to make another one, with the butterflies at the outside. 

 

Zendala Dare 36

Alweer een prachtige zendala template van Erin. Aangezien ik het mooi vind als er een klein beetje kleur wordt gebruikt in de tekeningen, heb ik besloten om vandaag de zendala eens niet zwart wit te maken, maar, om naast zwart en wit, ook blauw te gebruiken. Zie hier mijn resultaat.

Het midden heb ik gevuld met paradox, en de bollen heb ik gevuld met prestwood, in combinatie met cruffle. De ruimte ertussen heb ik opgevuld met een paisley bloem. 

Again a great Zendala template of Erin this week. Always when I am looking at Zendalas or ZTs or ZIAs, I am impressed by the ones who use a little color in their designs. So this week I thougt I had to try it myself. So I decided I would use the color bleu besides black and white. The centre part I filled with paradox, and the circles I did with prestwood in combination with cruffle. The spaces between the circles I filled with a Paisley flower.

Challenge 91 Beads of courage

De Diva challenge van deze week heeft als titel ' Beads of Courage'. Ik vind dit een geweldig initiatief. Want chronisch zieke kinderen zijn inderdaad heel moedig. Ze moeten vaak vervelende onderzoeken ondergaan, en worden voortdurend geconfronteerd met vervelende aspecten van hun ziekte. Ik heb dan ook bijzonder veel respect voor deze kinderen. Ik spreek uit ervaring, want mijn dochter lijdt aan een chronische ziekte. (Duchenne). Ik draag mijn werk dan  ook op aan haar en alle andere kinderen die lijden aan de ziekte van Duchenne.

The Diva challenge of this week has as title: ' Beads of Courage'. I think this is great. Because children with a chronic illness have a lot of courage indeed. The have to get examinations in hospitals, and they often are confronted with all the aspects of their illness. They deserve respect for that according to my opinion. I know what I'm talking about, I have a daugther with a chronic illness (Duchenne dystrofy) and she is always laughing despite of her illness. I dedicate this string with beads of courage to her and all the childeren who suffer this illness.

Challenge #86 Break Free!

Break Free, is de opdracht, niet gebonden zijn aan het formaat van het vierkant van de tile. Nou dat is voor mij niet zo moeilijk. In veel van mijn werkjes heb ik dit al toegepast. Ik heb zelf een string getekend, en de tangles volgen bijna vanzelf als ik eenmaal aan de gang ga. Ik heb me voorgenomen om in het vervolg goed bij te houden welke tangles is gebruik zodat ik ze kan benoemen in mijn post.

Ik ben gestart met Purk, en vanuit de ovalen waarmee ik purk heb gevuld, heb ik linten gevuld met gewoon streepjes. Vervolgens heb ik tussen beide linten de ruimte opgevuld met cruffle, een hele leuk patroontje om te maken, vloeit bijna vanzelf uit je pen. Ik wilde de grote ruimte aan de buitenkant opvullen met een vrij open patroon, en heb gekozen voor Florz, een eenvoudig patroon, maar heel goed aan te brengen ook in ruimtes waar rondingen zijn. Het laatste patroon wat ik gebruikt heb heet Kolum. Ik vond deze uitdaging erg leuk om te doen, en als ik nog tijd heb deze week ga ik er nog een proberen. 

   

String: Purk,Cruffle,Florz,Kolum

BreakFree, is this weeks challenge, not tied to the size of the square of the tile. I don't think this is verry difficult for me. In many of my works, I already do break free, so... I did a string and started to tangle.Most of the tangles follow almost automatically once I'm going. I try to remember the names of the patterns I use, so that I can mention them in my post. Often when I trying new patterns I am so occupied in training the tangles that I forget te write down the name of it, and when I want to use it another time, and want to google it, I have a problem. So from now first write down the name and then start tangeling. 

Well here is my workflow: I started with Purk, and from the oval Purk I did the ribbons filled with dashes. Then the space between the two ribbons with cruffle, a very nice pattern to make,  it's floating out of your pen when you create it. I love this tangle, though I have never used it before. The big spaces on the outside I planned to fill with a fairly open pattern, so I choose Florz, a simple pattern, but very good to apply even in curvy places. The last pattern I used is called Kolum. I loved this challenge, and when I can find the time with 4 kids and a dog, I will do another one....
