Dc #197: Arukas

Diana Schreur CZT#12I was already waiting for the Arukas challenge, because recently Rick and Maria published this new tangle. I already had some playtime with this pattern, and I want to show them to you as well. At first I had some trouble to get the right flow of the pattern, to create the beautiful start in the middle. But as  always practice practice is the key.

Diana Schreur CZT#12So I did the new pattern in my CZT-journal book, just trying some different lines, a bit of color and so. While drawing I was thinking how awesome it would be to make some flowers out of the pattern, so I did another drawing in my Grey toned Strathmore sketchbook. I love working on that grey paper, because of the white highlighting possibilities.

Diana Schreur CZT#12Of course I made a new one for this challenge too. In the FB Square one focus we had to use Gneis, so I took this pattern as the centre of my Arukas, and made another drawing.

I love this pattern, it has a lot of playground to play with, and you can adjust it the way you want very easy. Especially because you can change the centre part, and only after drawing the complete lines one wil see what the result is going to be.
Have fun and tangle on .....

  2. What a fun outside of the box solution to make them into the flowers. I also really love the flow in the right one in your journal, and the last tile is a stunning one! I see more possibilities for this now. Thank you.
